Navigating Child Grief: How to help children navigate grief

Navigating Child Grief: How to help children navigate grief

Grief touches everyone, but it affects us uniquely—especially our children. In our latest YouTube video, I explore the profound differences between how children and adults process loss.

I talk about the experience I have had, seeing that my kids are still evolving and how their grief seems to resurface during different life milestones. I share my journey of supporting my kids through their grief, emphasizing the need for patience and open dialogue, the challenge of distinguishing between normal childhood emotions and grief, and the importance of helping children find the language to describe their feelings.

It is a continual learning experience to be what my children need. The deeper I dive into my healing, the more consistent I have been in being there for my kids. Despite that, it has still been a struggle, and part of my healing is finding forgiveness for myself for my failures and patience as I stumble through solo parenting.

At Unvoiced, we believe no one grieves alone, including the youngest among us. Watch the video here, and let's continue the conversation on better-supporting children through their grief.
